Paula M. Verrette, M.D., Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Quality Services

Dr. Verrette received her Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University and Medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. She completed internship/residency at LA County-USC Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident in Pediatrics. 

In 1987 she opened her first medical practice serving the children of Pasadena. She has served in various leadership roles on Huntington Hospital’s medical staff, including chair of the Department of Pediatrics, chair of Quality Management and Chief of Staff, 2005-06. 

She has served as pediatric consultant to the Pasadena Unified School District, Pediatric Medical Director of the Community Health Alliance of Pasadena (CHAP) Clinic, Project Director of the Healthy Eating Lifestyle Program, and Director of Pasadena Community Asthma Program. 

She was named one of the “best doctors in Los Angeles”, Los Angeles Magazine, 1997; named YMCA’s “Woman of the Year”, 1999; presented with the “Living Legend Award” from American Medical Women’s Association, 2005. 

A Pasadena resident for 36 years she has enjoyed the beauty of the Arroyo while recognizing the fragility of this exceptional community resource. She is committed to preservation of green space for all populations and excited to be a part of making the Arroyo dream come true.
